Centre Captains announced

It is with pleasure that we announce our centre captains Lauren Caruso and Lachlan Pettigrove, Track and Field Captains: Eva Becvinovski and Christian Petersen, and Relay Captains Carla Di Martino and Christian Inglese. We congratulate all of these captains

Centre Captains:  Lauren Caruso and Lachlan Pettigrove

It is with pleasure that we announce that Lauren Caruso and Lachlan Pettigrove have been selected as the Centre Captains.  Both athletes are outstanding role models and leaders at the Centre and both have been Centre Champion in their time at Keilor.

Lauren is in Year 10 this year at Copperfield College. Her specialty events are the 400 metres, hurdles and the jumps, although Lauren excels in all events she competes in.  She has represented the Centre at regional and state level in track and field, relays and multi event and she was selected to represent Victoria in the Under 13 Australian Little Athletics Championships.

Lachlan is in Year 9 this year at Maribyrnong College.  His specialty events are the throws in which he has medalled at the State Championships on a number of occasions the highlight being his gold medal win in Javelin at the 2012 State Championships. Lachlan has represented Keilor at regional and state level in track and field, relays and multi event and he has represented Victoria at the Australian junior championships.

 

Track and Field Captains: Eva Becvinovski and Christian Petersen

Eva is in Year 9 this year at Strathmore Secondary College.  Not only is Eva accomplished in athletics she also excels in soccer and swimming making her an excellent candidate for a leadership role at the Centre.   Eva has represented Keilor admirably throughout her years with the highlight being her magnificent contribution to the relay teams that have won multiple medals at State Championships in recent years.

Christian is in Year 8 this year at Catholic Regional College and he has been an outstanding athlete and leader at our Centre over the years.  Christian has been the Centre Champion in the past and his specialty events are the throws, for which he has represented at State level.  He is also an excellent race walker and general all-rounder who excels in all events.  Christian has been a terrific contributor to the relay teams that have broken records and medalled at States.

 

Relay Captains:  Carla Di Martino and Christian Inglese

Carla, who attends Overnewton College, is a relative newcomer to the Centre but she has shown herself to be a very good leader and role model. She excels in high jump and triple jump and she placed 5th in both events at the State Track and Field Championships in 2014.  She has been a terrific member of the relay teams and she demonstrates a strong commitment to do the best she can in her events and in the way she represents and leads at the Centre.

Christian is in Year 9 this year at St Bernard’s College and he has represented our Centre for a number of years at regional and state level in track and field and relays and he was the Centre Champion last year.  Christian shows a high level of determination to do the best he can and to continually improve.  He is an excellent role model for the younger athletes and he has made a great contribution to the relay teams being a member of the record breaking and state medal team this year.
