Who does not love Centre Championships? I would have to say……..this is my favourite competition day on the Keilor Calendar. I know, I know…..I have said I love Relays….and then I love regions….blah, blah, blah……but really – hands down…..Centre Championships are the BEST.
How exciting to be a part of this day. With kids competing in their favourite events, our sparkling new medals and the excitement of the parent podium paparazzi – it is unreal!
I was privileged enough to spend the day with Gail and Adam at the presentation table, and whilst we were totally shattered at the end of the day – we had a ball! Tell me folks – who had more fun?…..our athletes or us proud parents. It was great to hear of all the PB’s thrown, Jumped and run as well as the Centre records broken – our athletes are just amazing.
Thank you to all our volunteers on the day. It’s a massive day with lots of organizing behind the scenes. As a parent – I would like to personally thank everyone involved in organising and running of this great event. I know you probably didn’t even get to see your kids compete – so thank you.
I took just a couple of pics at the podium – love the JETSTAR jump folks! I will post pics on Facebook. Apologies that there aren’t any pics of the kids competing…the only event I could see from the presentation table was High Jump.
So it’s all about presentation and the Jetstar Jump off the podium….and I warn you…I may have cut off a few heads in the jumping process!
Ahhh – no question about it….it isn’t I may have cut off their heads – I definitely did! OOPS!!!
Not all heads got chopped though…….
As we finish off the end of the season – I would like to say what a pleasure this year has been. This has been one of the favourite years in the time I have been involved in the Committee. I have enjoyed immersing myself in the Centre and getting to know families and athletes….you are a pretty good bunch and should be proud to be a part of this great Centre.
Congratulations to all of our athletes in their achievements this year….and I hope to hear you all cheer really really loud next year!
